Smartphones have become our everyday companions, frequently used for capturing the things we find beautiful or interesting and sharing them through photography. The advancements of mobile imagery, sensors, lenses, and technology are growing more sophisticated and the plethora of creative apps have placed smartphones on the cutting-edge of photography.

Our workshop will:

Focus on the technical aspects of how to get the best images from your smartphone, while exploring the creative side of smartphone photography.

Allow for discussion in the areas of exposure, composition, artistic vision, photo apps, and storytelling.

Using what we’ve learned, will end the workshop strolling in downtown Warren to capture street-life, landmarks, and other interests.

This workshop is led by a professional photographer and instructor and is designed for the amateur who desires to use and share mobile visuals and have an interest in the creative side of smartphone photography.

All participants must bring a mobile/smartphone device with a camera such as an iPhone, Android smartphone, or Windows-phone. The workshop is limited to 15 people.

Workshop Cost: $10 per person
Registration & Payments must be submitted to Trumbull Art Gallery by March 25, 2017, to secure a spot. Checks should be written out to – Trumbull Art Gallery.

Workshop Expert:

Represented by Agnew & Jacobs, DeShawn Scott is an award-winning photographer based in Northeast Ohio. For the past 20 years, photography has served as his creative and artistic outlet.

DeShawn’s been recognized for capturing compelling moments of the human condition through projects such as the internationally recognized, ’24 Hour Project’. In addition, he’s shared his time and talent to raise awareness and support community initiatives such as The Scott Street Mural Project, and the Urban Opportunity Exhibition.

One of his greatest joys is educating and empowering others to reach their full potential and to pursue what brings them happiness.
